Yesterday morning John came back from his holidays, looking forward to clearing all of the junk mail from his inbox, catching up with customer requests and generally getting back into the web design agency swing.
To his absolute horror, sitting in his inbox was 31,476 emails.
When you work for a web agency, you find that you have a lot of suppliers who largely rely on email for communication. Often newsletters and invoices are emailed to us with a “noreply” type email address.
It seems that John’s autoresponder and a suppliers “noreply” message had gotten caught in an eternal loop of email tennis.
How long does it take an idiot to delete 31,476 emails?
3 hours.
On a more positive note, John is almost fully back up to speed following his break so things will return to lightning fast normality today.
If you have sent us an email and have had an unusually slow response it has possibly been lost amongst the plague of recently deleted ones.
Get back in touch and we’ll be right onto it.
